Open Drive Compressors A compressor is a device that acts as a pump which compresses a refrigerant gas. When the gas is later allowed to expand, it absorbs and transfers heat and produces a cooling effect which forms the basis for a wide variety of refrigeration products. An Open Drive Compressor is a semi-hermetic compressor in which the crankshaft extends through the crankcase and is driven by an outside motor. A Hermetic Compressor is a compressor in which the driving motor is sealed in the same dome or housing as the compressor. The motor operates in an atmosphere of the refrigerant. A Semi-Hermetic Compressor is a hermetic compressor with service valves. A Scroll compressor is an ingenious machine used for compressing air or refrigerant; it was originally invented in 1905 by Léon Creux. The classical design consists of two nested identical scrolls given by circle involutes Click below for a complete list of our Open Drive Compressors |
